"Focus" Original Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas
This piece started off as an idea of wanting to make a macabre-esque, anatomical heart. Prior to being an artist, I worked as an RN for 6 years, and I really enjoyed the anatomy and physiology lab portion of my schooling. I lost count of how many models of skeletons, hearts, lungs, and other bodily systems I drew for studying purposes, and I really felt called to create a piece stemming from that.
While painting, I found myself reflecting on the importance of focusing and prioritizing appropriately. We only live once, and I want to focus my time and energy on the things that truly matter.
