"Woman in White" Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas
There are many different lore and legends surrounding the “Woman In White”, but all share these commonalities; she’s a spirit in a white dress, long dark hair, and her story is centered around tragedy.
The inspiration behind this version of the “Woman In White” came to me after watching an episode of Supernatural. I’ve always been a big fan of the show, and in the spring I started rewatching it from the beginning during my sketchbook time.
The pilot episode featured a story where the “Woman In White” was the main guest. In this particular story, she was a spirit that sought vengance on men whom had been unfaithful; at times, she would seduce them to become unfaithful, and then make her fatal blow.
After watching this episode once more, I knew that I had to paint her. Her story is complex, and is full of sadness and vengance. It’s a complicated tale.
